Thomas Aldolphus Falcon was a landscape painter who was born on 24th July 1872 at Pudsey in Yorkshire.  He was educated at Manchester Grammar School and at Trinity College, Cambridge.  He was elected Member of the Royal Society of British Artists in 1902 and exhibited 138 works with them.  He also exhibited at the Royal Academy, the Royal Cambrian Academy, the Royal Society of Artists Birmingham, Walker Art Gallery Liverpool, Manchester City Art Gallery, the Royal Society of Portrait Painters and the Royal Institute of Oil Painters.  He published Dartmoor Illustrated in 1900 and Pictorial Dartmoor in 1902.  He worked in Devon and lived for many years at Braunton.  He died on 28th January 1944.
