Edward Rogers was
born in Wisbech and educated in Ely. His early work was mainly portraits and
landscapes but in the late 1940s he began to produce coloured geometric
abstract pictures and cut-metal sculptures.
During the Second World War he served in the Royal Air Force, and travelled
extensively in Europe, India and Egypt.
He exhibited at Drian Galleries where he had a
solo show in 1966 and a solo show at Vincintoria Art
Gallery, Brighton in 1968. BBC Southern
Television made a film about his work and this is now in the Warsaw National
Museum, Poland. Belgrave Gallery and
Abbott and Holder have also exhibited work by Edward Rogers.
