William Innes Pocock was a naval lieutenant and produced many drawings of far flung parts of the world.  However, he also painted in England, most notably in the Southern counties and the Thames Valley where his brother inherited a property at Maidenhead in 1818.  His father was the artist Nicholas Pocock.
