Gabriel Perelle was a painter and engraver, born in
Vernon-sur-Seine in 1604. He was the son
of a farmer of the Duke of Vieuville. He
studied under Daniel Rabel and later worked in the studio of Simon Vouet. He was a designer and engraver of landscapes
and was inspired by the work of Claude Lorraine and Francisque Millet. He also engraved after the drawings of
Poussin, Asselyn, Paul Bril and Silverstre.
