Gabriel Perelle was a painter and engraver, born in Vernon-sur-Seine in 1604.  He was the son of a farmer of the Duke of Vieuville.  He studied under Daniel Rabel and later worked in the studio of Simon Vouet.   He was a designer and engraver of landscapes and was inspired by the work of Claude Lorraine and Francisque Millet.  He also engraved after the drawings of Poussin, Asselyn, Paul Bril and Silverstre.  Examples of work by Gabriel Parelle are in the
