Michael
Griffiths studied at Brighton Polytechnic from 1973 to 1976 after which he
studied for a post-grad diploma in printmaking from 1976 to 1977. He was elected Member of the Newlyn Society
of Artists in 1999 and a Member of the Royal Society of Painter Etchers and
Engravers in 2001. He has shown in
numerous exhibitions including one-man shows in Bournemouth,
Winchester, Brighton, Chichester, London, Southampton
and the Isle of Wight. He has also shown in group exhibitions
throughout the UK
and in Spain,
Germany,
Holland, Bulgaria and Yugoslavia. His
work is held in the collections of The Victoria and Albert Museum;
The University of Kent; Wiltshire Education Authority; London Borough of Tower
Hamlets; Varna Print Biennale, Bulgaria;
South East Arts and Selskapet Kunst Pa Arbeidsplassen, Norway. Prizes and awards include the Curwen Chilford printmaking prize and Barcham
Green Printmaking Competition, South East Arts Prizewinner.
