Zivko Djakic was born in Belgrade in 1942. He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Belgrade in 1967 and in 1969 he trained at the Central School of Arts in London. In 1970 he completed his postgraduate studies at the Academy of Fine Arts in Belgrade. In1968 he became a member of ULUS (the Association of Fine Artists, Serbia) . He then made study trips to Italy, United Kingdom,  Germany, Austria, Czech Republic, Slovakia and Russia. He was a member of the Thomaso Campanella Academy of Sciences and Arts in Rome and received a number of significant awards for artistic creativity. Zivka Djakova's works are kept at the Museum of Contemporary Art, the Naron Museum and the Museum of the City of Belgrade, the Albertin Collection in Vienna, the Royal Library in Brussels, the Victoria and Albert Museum in London, the Museum of Modern Art in New York, the Modern Gallery in Ljubljana, the JAZU Graphics Cabinet in Zagreb and many other public and private collections. He died on January 2, 2014.
