Snow Gibbs was an artist working in oil, watercolour and pastel. He studied at the Central School of Arts and Crafts, at New York School of Art and in Paris at the Ecole des Beaux Arts from 1907 to 1914. He lived at Leigh-on-Sea in Essex and in London. His work was reproduced in the “Studio” and “Colour” magazines and he exhibited at the Paris Salon, the London Salon, the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours, the Royal Institute of Oil Painters, the Society of Marine Artists, the Society of Graphic Artists, the Pastel Society, the British Watercolour Society (of which he was a Member), the Royal Cambrian Academy, the Royal West of England Academy and the Walker Art Gallery, Liverpool.
